Interior Redesign
“Your home is a precious gift you give to yourself. And it gives back daily. What can be more important than the space where you live and breathe and thrive, surrounded by the memories and treasures that fill you up?”
- Oprah Winfrey
Interior Redesign is a process used in interior decorating. It is sometimes called one-day room makeovers, use-what-you-have decorating, interior rearrangement or interior refining. It gained popularity as room redesigns were often a featured segment in the “no cost decorating” segment of HGTV’s television show Decorating Cents. HGTV’s show Freestyle also features the “use what you have” process of interior redesign and it has also been featured on Oprah.
An interior redesign is a fast, affordable and simple way to give your rooms a fresh, warm and inviting look while bringing out your personality and reflecting your family, your style, and your interests. We work with the treasured belongings you already own to give your living space an entirely new look in one day!
So how does the process work?
We start with an in-home consultation where I’ll ask you questions about who uses the room, how the room is used and what you like and dislike about it. My goal is to find out what’s working and what’s not working for you so that I can solve that problem during the redesign. As we walk through the room(s) and I interview you, I’ll share some design tips, will leave you with a proposal and can set an appointment for bringing in a team to do the redesign.
On the day of your redesign, I’ll bring my team in and you can leave the home to do your errands, go to work, or have a great day out on the town while we create a new look for your home.
We’ll start by taking “before” pictures and then we empty everything out of the room! Yes, I carry liability insurance, in case of accidents, but we always treat your belongings with respect. After emptying the room, we “rebuild” the room by rearranging the furniture, taking into account the architectural focal points and the desired function of the room. We then add back in the artwork and finish up with the accessories, grouping them for impact. As we finish we take “after” pictures while we give you a call so that you can come back for the magical “reveal” moment where you get to see your new designer look without the designer price tag!
It is my goal that at the end of each redesign, every client can say “Mais Oui!” or “Yes, of course…this is what I’ve always dreamt my home would be like!”
